2026 - 2021
PALS - People With ALS. This work in this series is a response to watching a dear friend navigate living with ALS. Bobby was diagnosed at the age of 26 and fought valiantly for 9 1/2 years. He taught me about resilience and hope and making moments matter. Many of these paintings start with a word given to me by Bobby. Words he could no longer speak, and they led the way for the paintings to emerge. Being a part of his journey was hard and beautiful at the same time. With these works, I am taking that difficulty, processing it, and letting the painting speak about joy, light, and life that can be found on the other side of the darkness.
