Installations
2026
My installations extend painting into space and invite viewers to move within the work. I reverse-paint on flexible plexiglass once used during COVID as a barrier, transforming a material that separated people into one that encourages encounter and connection. The work shifts from outside to inside as light, color, and bodies move through it.
Giving Garden brought this idea into the community through 400 handmade flowers, one for each year of Beverly's history. Visitors wore, carried, shared, and danced with them, allowing the installation to continue beyond its original site.
Giving Garden
Beverly 400 Garden Party, Beverly, Massachusetts, 2026
Giving Garden began with plexiglass that had been used during COVID to create distance between people. Reverse-painted and suspended with a gentle curve, it became a space people could enter. The imagery changed from outside to inside, allowing each visitor to experience the painting from more than one point of view.
Four hundred handmade flowers, one for each year of Beverly's history, carried the work into the community. Visitors wore them, shared them, danced with them, and brought them into the city beyond the installation. What began as a barrier became an invitation and then a gift.
